Terra Veda is small herbal business that was founded within a rural fishing village in Alaska. In 2018 we began building our apothecary & handcrafting an array of products from our herbal inventory, with a focus in artisanal teas, tisanes, and herbal infusions. No longer in our brick & mortar location, we have decided to embrace the waves of change that the 2020’s have brought to us all & serve our beloved customer base through love & distance. Our mission has not changed and we still strive to be as much of a zero-waste business as possible, therefore all orders will be packaged minimally, in compostable &/or reusable materials. We appreciate all of you & your support to our small, female-owned business!

*Since we do not use tea bags, there is no polypropylene concerns for composting your steeped tea residue. Teas are a wonderful addition to compost piles, but some blends may contain spices that have different properties which could enhance the quality of soil. Please look-up the ingredients in the tea blend you want to compost and the reaction of plants you intend to grow & consider further supporting our “Root to Revival” mantra.*
The average human produces 4.5-5lbs of trash each day, with the U.S. leading in the production of over 250 million tons annually. Globally, humans generate 3.5 million tons of plastic & non-biodegradable trash daily. Although we have resources to help our environment and the glutinous mindset of the human race, it’s not enough. Coming from a very rural community in Alaska, our resources and access to things is quite limited. Our first thoughts tend to go to recycling and how helpful it is, but we forget (or maybe don’t even know) that recycle is the last step to the 3 R’s- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Did you know that the production of a plastic water bottle requires 3 times the amount of water than it actually holds? So, a 1 liter bottle of water from the store took 3 liters of water just to make the plastic it sits in. With that said, we decided to take a more zero-waste approach to our business as everything that is shipped into our community, stays in our community. If we package our products in paper & suggest you transfer our teas into a canning jar once received , we remove the possibility of contributing to the landfills & implement mindful thinking with every purchase. If every business adapted this mindset, we could drastically change the rate of which we are destroying the earth & our futures. The quality of our product does not alter because it’s not shipped in fancy packaging, we value our moral mission over cooperate America aesthetics. We are here to show you why our mantra is “Root of Revival”.
